Welcome to The Hardwood Floor Store, a family owned and operated wood flooring business located in Bergen County, New Jersey. Three generations have worked with hardwood floors all starting with the late Paul Phykitt who mentored his son-in-law, Dave Paparoski. Dave started his own wood flooring company back in the early 1980's and is now mentoring and working with his son Travis to continue the family tradition. Both Dave and Travis are on the job everyday working with their clients and their hardwood floors in northern New Jersey. Clients appreciate knowing who will be working in their home, and  the expertise they bring to every flooring job.

In 2005, Dave built and opened The Hardwood Floor Store in the center of Hillsdale, New Jersey so clients could easily view the varieties of woods, borders, colors and finishes to choose from. Dave tailors and customizes each job to the clients specific wood flooring likes and needs. Though some clients did like to come to the store to view wood flooring options, most preferred the store came to them so Dave could view the client's current flooring situation, hardwood floors, make recommendations and discuss the job with the client in their home. For this very reason, The Hardwood Floor Store has gone totally mobile, bringing the store, samples and expertise to every client's home. The Hardwood Floor Store continues to serve the residents of Bergen County, Passaic County and additional areas of northern New Jersey, including Hillsdale, Westwood, Park Ridge, Montvale, Woodcliff Lake, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River, Allendale, Ridgewood, Englewood Cliffs, Rockleigh and more.

Meet The Owner

Dave Paparoski, Owner and Wood Flooring Expert is meticulous about his work. Dave is considered an innovator in hardwood floors whether an installation, sanding or refinishing and has been named “The Color King” among interior designers and contractors due to his custom blends of floor stain and color matching. Dave has worked in the hardwood flooring industry for more than 30 years and continues to research the best and safest products available in wood flooring installations, sanding and refinishing to offer to his clientele. As a wood flooring innovator, Dave continues to improve his proprietary process and technique, delivering exquisite, durable and long lasting hardwood floors that his clients can depend on.
