We would highly recommend The Hardwood Floor Store in Hillsdale, NJ! I hired them to do a large job in our new home and was 110% satisfied. The newly finished floors were matched to perfection with the existing wood floors. The job was meticulously cleaned up after. All woodwork and molding was preserved and treated with care, & all employees were professional and were highly skilled. Even after ripping up the carpet and a few surprise spots were found, this did not create a hiccup in the job. The owner, Dave is a knowledgeable expert with hardwood and a pleasure to work with. Our floors are stunning! Definitely trusted & we highly recommend.

When I first bought my house back in 2008, I thought to myself "the first thing I need to do is replace the banister and have the hardwood floors refinished". They were in awful condition. Seven years later, I finally got around to it. Part of my hesitation related to stories I had heard about fumes, excessive amounts of dust from the wood, etc. Well, I finally decided to move ahead. After checking around, I met with Dave and I was instantly put at ease. He carefully described the process, explained my options, his pricing was fair and I was confident that he was fully capable of doing the job well. Once the job started, I was amazed at how little dust there was. They cleaned as they went and the equipment they used captured the vast majority of the dust. They then use special vacuums and they vacuum repeatedly throughout the process. They also curtained off my kitchen and downstairs to prevent any airborne dust from infiltrating those areas. The amount of dust in the house was truly minimal. I was amazed. As for the odor, there was an odor in the house the day they put the stain on. Once they started putting on the polyurethane top coat the next day, the odor was minimal. Even after four coats of the polyurethane, the odor level was still minimal and it dissipated almost entirely within 24 hours. My worst fears of odors and dust never materialized. It was virtually a pain free experience. As for the quality of workmanship, it was exceptional. I can't begin to stress how pleased I am with the outcome. If I had to sum up Dave and his crew in one word, it would be "professional". I highly recommend them.

Our floors were ruined by water from an ice dam incident. We hired another company to come in and demolish and replace the hardwood floors. After the initial sanding and stain, we realized there was a problem. After getting nowhere with the other company, we called Dave to save the day. We got his number from a friend who used him before and thank goodness we did. He made time in his schedule to repair where the problems were and finish the job. The floors were beautiful and exactly what we had wanted. If we ever do another flooring project, we will ONLY use Dave for the job. Thank you for coming to the rescue. My wife and I decided to have our 60 year old red oak floors refinished in our living room, dining room, stairs and foyer. Our floors had been covered by wall-to-wall carpeting for decades, and we did not really know what condition they were in. I found Dave quickly with a Google search, and I immediately liked what I read on his good-looking website! The testimonials from other local residents convinced me that he certainly had a great reputation and was well worth considering for this project. From the first phone call I knew I had found someone responsible, knowledgeable and dedicated to his craft. My wife and I were impressed from his first visit to our home and we felt confident we would be very pleased trusting Dave and his family owned business to refinish our flooring. We met with Dave in his showroom one evening and we chose some stains we liked. He then came to our home and applied a few stains to our now sanded floor so we could decide for sure. We actually chose a blend of two stains together that he recommended. From start to finish we were completely satisfied with their friendly professional manner and skilled workmanship! He is punctual, stays exactly on schedule so you can plan your day around him. The dust is very minimal and the odor was no problem whatsoever. They just finished up yesterday installing color matched door sills and 4 coats of sealer. When I got home from the office I was totally blown away and in awe of the finished job! It looks like a brand new wood floor - flawless in every detail. The deep rich color and soft satin finish remind me of a piece of fine crafted furniture. We are 100% satisfied with every aspect of this project and highly recommend his services for your new or refinished floors! Thanks to the skills of Dave and his family, we will enjoy this floor for many years to come.
